‘Back in Time at the Factory’
A popular BBC living history show ‘Back in Time at the Factory’ gave Welsh women a glimpse of what it was like to work in a factory in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. WalesOnline wrote an article where it was revealed that participants of the show actually had a special connection with the “heyday of the valleys”.
The article which can be read in full here, goes on to reveal that the Brabon family actually had connections to “Polikoff’s”, where older generations worked and actually met partners whilst working in the factory.
“My parents both worked in the factory and so did my in-laws. Both my mam and dad met in Polikoff’s and so did Mary and Derek (my in-laws). My parents spoke very highly about their time there, it was all about laughter, camaraderie, friendship.”
